Seaside Child Development Center
When enrolling your child at our center, you are reserving a space for your child. Like rent on an apartment, you are reserving the time, space, staff, and provisions for your child whether or not he or she attends. As such, you will be charged the full rate regardless of your childs absence--whether it is for vacation, illness, family funeral, etc. Your rate is determined by whether your child is enrolled in the daycare program; the before/after school care program; or the overnight care program. Please understand that this is sound business practice that ensures the continuity of our center and its mission.
Please also understand that strictly adhering to this policy ensures your child's space in the program, as opposed to relinquishing it to the next family on our waiting list. Given the number of families that we serve, differing from this policy would create a financial headached that would prevent us from implementing and ensuring the quality of care and education that we pledged to you upon enrollment.
In the case of vacations or hospitalization, it is your choice to un-enroll your child under these circumstances, however, we cannot guarantee that he or she will still have a spot upon return as this is a first-come, first-served industry. IN THIS CASE, THE REGULAR TUITION ARRANGEMENT STILL APPLIES. YOU WILL STILL NEED TO COMMUNICATE YOUR INTENTIONS TO US IN ORDER THAT WE CAN DETERMINE YOUR PAID-THROUGH DATE.
In the event of abseentism without communication from you, after 1 week of non-attendance and no communication from you, your child will be withdrawn from the program and his or her reserved space will be up for the next family on the waiting list. IN THIS CASE, YOU WILL STILL BE CHARGED FOR THE WEEK OF NON-ATTENDANCE.
In the even that the center should close due to circumstances beyond our control, YOU WILL BE CREDITED FOR ANY DAYS YOUR CHILD IS PROHIBITED FROM ATTENDING (e.g., in the example of a natural disaster or a communicable disease outbreak that prevents our operation). YOU WILL ALSO NOT BE CHARGED FOR HOLIDAYS DURING WHICH THE CENTER IS CLOSED. We will announce these dates in advance in order that you may make alternative arrangements.
WE STRONGLY ADVISE THAT YOU HAVE BACK-UP PLAN FOR CHILDCARE IN THE EVENT THAT AN EMERGENCY ARISES AND THE CENTER IS FORCED TO CLOSE. For example, Lisa once experienced an influenza outbreak that affected all staff and families were unable to be contacted until the morning of the situation due to certain circumstances. So again, please ensure you notify us of changes in your contact info and have a back-up plan.
