Joni is currently working on obtaining a Bachelors in Early Childhood Education and a Directors Credential. Joni has over 13 years experience in childcare, but has also taught Religious Education since 1996. As her family is busy, Joni is very involved in their school programs, church youth programs, and the Tiger Point Sports Association. In the rare chance that she has free time, Joni enjoys relaxing at the beach, crafting with her kids, and cheering and celebrating them with sports, clubs, and church events. What Joni loves most about teaching is being able to love, nurture, and watch the children learn and develop. She is amazed that "there is so much that they learn within the 1st year of life" and she appreciates being able to be a part of those first experiences.

LEAD TODDLER 2 TEACHER: Mr. Matthew
Matthew Barnes comes to us as a Cantonment native. He is the youngest of 4 children and has gained some childcare experience helping with his 4 nephews and niece. His family pet is a cat named Hercules. Matthew has enjoyed a cruise to Mexico and hopes to one day be able to explore Europe. A high school graduate, Matthew is currently working on his credentials for childcare. In high school, he was active in the band and played many instruments including baritone, euphonium and trombone. His senior year he got to showcase his leadership skills as drum major. His love of music is the reason he one day would like to become a music educator. Matthew enjoys working at Seaside because he says it is a very rewarding position to be in to provide the children a place where they can have fun and learn in their home away from home.
